The town of Mosta is in the centre of the Island of Malta just north-west of Valletta and is one of the largest towns on the Island. Due to its location it is easy to reach as many of the buses run through the town on their way to Cirkewwa, Buggiba nad Mellieha. The population of Mosta increases all the time due to the flourishing business community which draws more people to the area and therefore more housing developments are being built all the time.
Mosta is well known for its famous Rotunda Church that is said to have the third largest unsupported dome in the world. The Rotunda Church designed by Giorgio Grognet has a similar look to that of the famous Pantheon in Rome. There are many medieval chapels to visit as well as the Victoria Lines; a 12km barrier which is made up of a network of fortifications that run the width of Malta from the east (Madliena) through the town of Mosta and to the west coast (Rabat). This barrier has defensive towers at either end.
There are plenty of places to eat out in Mosta from fine dining at The Lord Nelson restaurant to wine bars and pizzerias.
